around mid-2007 i started to conceive and work on an album based on listening to the world as a musical object, with the hope of sharing the aesthetic pleasure i often find in the sounds that surround me.

a few months later, in december, my wife and youngest son died in a car accident. the project was abandoned.

march 2008, the first comments about the next bafici film festival start to appear. the previous nine ones were always shared time as a couple, relishing in our amateur and some times passionate cinephilia. i decided to try and be part of the audience again, alone this time, maybe as a way of recovering nine years of memories.

while waiting for the first movie i remembered my digital recorder, always tucked in one of my backpack pockets. i registered the first minutes, without thinking about what to expect, or if it would be useful. among other things, i found wim wenders saying "how to live? how can you know what to live for?".

dead times between one screening and the next. i think about movies as sound objects. musique concrète and found footage at the same time. tribute to people and stories, memories, collage of moments in which the ear in wonder discovers shapes or extremely musical behavior in the rumor of a pencil or the whistle of a boiling kettle. avoid semantics if possible —after all you can't see the taiwanese guy in his briefs—. a movie of fragments for closed eyes.
